Ode to Typography
ART 3200 | Fall 2023

This book is a culmination of several months’ work focusing on all things typography. Designers explored a wide range of what typography offers, from utilitarian to expressive, formal & functional. Presented in the following pages are examples of experiments at the intersection of materiality and form.

Using individual alphabetic characters, designers created compositions expressing qualities inherent to four different media including letterpress printing, riso printing, digital tools, and cast light/shadows. The collection of these experiments is our ‘ode to typography’. A love letter to process, experimentation, material, form, and language made visible.
